A new event for 2007 with a novel pursuit race format. The course was from Black Rock to Newlyn. Competitors could choose their own start time in order to maximise the benefit from the tides.

The breeze looks reasonable in the photo, but it was very light and variable so the result was determined at the shortened-course line off Lizard Point. All three finishers were remarkably close on the water, 8 hours after starting and 4 hours after the tide turned against them!
